Q: What type of grant applications will be considered when applying for a grant through the Randolph Hospital Community Health Foundation?

A: For 2013, The Randolph Hospital Community Health Foundation will fund grants which will engage volunteers and organizations to motivate our community to make healthy lifestyle choices. Our priorities are programs which support at least one of the following focus areas:

  • Nutrition, projects that benefit nutrition in the areas of education, training and research;
  • Physical Fitness, promotion of healthy living through programs that initiate, expand and improve physical fitness;
  • Obesity, prevention or early intervention through education, activity, nutrition and/or behavioral strategies;
  • Substance Abuse, education and prevention programs that ease the transition of becoming free from the health problems associated with abuse of alcohol, tobacco and/or illicit drugs.

Q: What is the timeline for grant applications to be completed?

The Randolph Hospital Community Health Foundation will open the 2013 grant process in June 2012. Please stay tuned to this web site for more information regarding Letters of Intent, applications, instructions and deadlines.

Q: When will organizations find out they were awarded grant funding?

A: Organizations who receive funding from the Randolph Hospital Community Health Foundation will be notified in early January.

Q: How can I obtain additional information about applying for a grant through the Randolph Hospital Community Health Foundation?

Q: Do you fund projects outside of Randolph County?

A: No, the Foundation funds projects that improve the health and wellness of the people in Randolph County.

Q: What is the average gift of each grant?

A: Amounts awarded vary and depend on the scope of the project and type of grant. To see a complete list of grants awarded in given years along with their amounts, please click here.

Q: Can the Foundation assist with writing the grant application?

Q: How will I know if the Foundation received my grant application?

A: Foundation staff will contact you either via email within one week or written letter, confirming receipt of your application.

Q: If our application is declined, is our organization eligible to apply again?

A: Yes, you may apply in subsequent calendar years.

Q: Should we wait to hear from the Foundation before applying to others?

A: No. Please submit applications to multiple sources of funding, as doing so may improve your chances of success.
