The Randolph Hospital Community Health Foundation has announced that the 2013 grant process has begun for prospective grantees. "Just tell us about your organization and what you are planning to do," says April Thornton, director of Public Relations and Development at Randolph Hospital. "All we need are a few sentences outlining the idea, budget, number of people that will be impacted and area of focus."

The Randolph Hospital Community Health Foundation will fund grants which engage volunteers and organizations to motivate the Randolph County community to make healthy lifestyle choices. The priorities of the Foundation are programs which support at least one of the following focus areas: nutrition, physical fitness, obesity or substance abuse.

For 2012, the Randolph Hospital Community Health Foundation awarded six health and wellness grants totaling $62,539.00. Projects like the Deep River Rail Trail expansion, linking Franklinville and Ramseur, and Randolph Community College’s conference on substance abuse resources in Randolph County for families and caregivers of those dealing with substance abuse are just two of the grants that were awarded.
