Rehabilitation
Aquatic Therapy
Aquatic Therapy is used to supplement an exercise program by using
water to improve a patient's ability to participate in activities
that may be limited on land. Through a partnership with the Asheboro/Randolph
YMCA, our specially trained therapists work one-on-one with patients
in the YMCA swimming pool.
Aquatic Therapy is an alternative for low impact, efficient muscular
and joint therapy. The water environment allows for less muscular
effort to move joints, provides greater cardiovascular response
and creates supportive buoyant effects. Aquatic Therapy enhances
balance, coordination, flexibility, endurance, muscle relaxation,
joint range of motion, circulation, strength and joint stabilization.
Aquatic Therapy is beneficial for most medical conditions and helps you achieve optimal performance getting you back to the things you enjoy doing. Our therapists design customized treatment plans to address your specific condition.
