Corporate Culture Change
The drive to continually improve the quality of care we provide has lead to a significant shift in our culture. It has brought new ways of making decisions, more involvement of employees across the hospital and improved employee satisfaction. By using teams comprised of a variety of healthcare providers, i.e., physicians, nurses, therapists, technicians, etc., to help identify everyday processes that can be improved, employees are able to directly impact the overall quality of care provided by Randolph Hospital.
Recently, Randolph Hospital implemented the LEAN process improvement methodology. Basically, LEAN helps us identify ways we can improve our processes so that all activities will add value to our customers.
The Lean model requires all employees to shift their thinking from “I’ve always done it that way” to creating new and efficient processes that will benefit our patients and staff. Staff work together on teams to eliminate wasted time and processes and implement solutions that will work better, providing better patient care and making it easier for employees to do their jobs.
