Board Quality Committee

Through the leadership and initiative of our Board of Directors, we launched our Evidence-Based Care Program. Evidence-based care continues to be a care philosophy that is experiencing measureable success. It is a process that helps to ensure that our patients' needs are met with the best medical knowledge available, and in a format that can be documented and measured. It provides the medical staff with guidelines of proven or standardized information that is laid out in chart form, so that the caregivers have a reminder checklist of appropriate procedures and essential information.

We began our evidence-based care initiatives in October 2003 with the launch of the pneumonia care guidelines. Since that time we have seen on-going improvement and have added additional evidenced-based care teams.
