Cancer Center
Currently recruiting volunteers for our new Cancer Center opening in October. Contact the Volunteer Office for details.

Coffee Cart
Deliver complimentary delicious coffee and steaming hot chocolate to visitors and patient family members in waiting areas. This service enables those in waiting areas to enjoy refreshments without being fearful of missing important information of their loved one. This position also delivers magazines to waiting areas and movies to patients. Assist Volunteer Office with duties and projects. Get some exercise and meet some great people while volunteering! An ideal job that’s great for a caring person with good people skills. Must be able to walk throughout hospital and push coffee cart. (Positions are currently filled)

Concierge/Guest Relations
Think about the best service you’ve ever received…what were the qualities of the person who delivered that service? Smiling, friendly, understanding, compassionate, outgoing, willing to go the extra step in exceptional service? We want our customers to see and feel our desire to give the best in “World Class” customer service. Be our “first impression” at our Welcome Center. Greet our customers at the car (protected from inclement weather) and offer assistance for patient drop-off, parking options and offer Randolph Hospital “World Class” service and leave a lasting first impression! We even furnish you a nice winter jacket for warmth! Person should be outgoing, friendly and able to deal with adverse weather conditions.

Diabetes Center
Provides clerical assistance for diabetes educator. Great for someone who enjoys an office setting and is interested in diabetes education. Volunteer needed one morning during the week.

Gift Cart
Meet new friends and benefit from exercise at your own pace while providing a valuable service to visitors and staff. You will get to sell gift shop items, sundries and candy throughout the hospital while enabling family members to stay close to waiting rooms and loved ones. Ideal candidates must be able to maneuver cart on wheels, use a calculator and count change. Flexible shifts available Monday-Friday.

Gift Shop
An eclectic mix of gifts, home décor and unique jewelry, this quaint gift boutique is not your average hospital gift shop! Greet and assist customers, display merchandise, and operate cash register. We will train you! Friendly, creative and outgoing personality needed. Assist others and shop while you volunteer!

Health Information
Assist with clerical duties and chart distribution. Ideal for a conscientious person who enjoys filing and office work. Great for students who may be interested in coding, transcription or general medical chart upkeep. Flexible hours anytime M-F, 8 am – 5 pm.

Helping Hands Volunteers
This service is perfect for the volunteer who really enjoys patients and desires to feel rewarded after every volunteer experience. Provide basic supportive care to patients such as hair care, hand/foot care, and assist with patient meals, reading and writing and just spending time with patients. Looking for those who are caring and desiring to help others by offering the “little extras”. No clinical support but close patient contact. Volunteers are needed Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., flexible hours.

Home Knitters/Crocheters
You can stay at home and still provide a valuable service for hospital patients. Home knitters/crocheters make keepsake baby caps for every newborn at Randolph Hospital. We also have a need for volunteers to knit and crochet prayer shawls and lap blankets for patients.

Library
Assist with distributing educational materials to nursing units, alphabetizing materials in the library, simple clerical tasks and working with the librarian on new educational projects.

Rehab Services
Assist with duties in Rehabilitation Services, monitor patient exercises, assist with making clean beds, clean therapy equipment and assist with patient transport. Great for caring people who get along well with patients. Excellent for those interested in sports medicine, physical or occupational therapy.

Welcome Center
Greet and assist patients and visitors, transport patients and offer directional guidance. We escort all of our patients and visitors to their destination! Caring, sensitive and energetic volunteers needed. Only smiling, people oriented persons wanted for this very important position. Lots of walking involved in this volunteer position and must be able to push a wheelchair weighing up to 450 lbs.

Various Clerical Areas
Assist with filing, copying and use of various office equipment. (Computer skills helpful, but not necessary). Departments often need phone coverage during meetings, etc. If you have Microsoft Office skills, then we have lots of different opportunities for you! Volunteers are needed anytime M-F, 8:30 - 5:00.

Virtual Volunteers
You can still make an impact, help others and make someone’s day while volunteering from home! Volunteers crochet or knit newborn baby hats for every baby born in Randolph Hospital. We also have volunteers who knit or sew lap blankets for our Palliative Care patients and knit Prayer Shawls for patients identified by our Chaplains as benefiting from this special service. Can’t come into the hospital? Then this is your perfect way of providing a wonderful outreach service that means so much to each recipient! Make your own hours! Call and see what you can do!
