Speech Therapy
Communication and swallowing disorders can negatively affect our
ability to participate in everyday activities. Whether you are
the parent of a child who is not talking or someone who acquired
a speech impairment later in life, our trained speech therapists
work to improve your condition improving your quality of life.
Our Speech Therapy Program provides services for children and
adults with communication and or swallowing disorders whether from
the result of brain trauma, stroke or a condition existing since
birth. Our speech therapists evaluate your strengths and weaknesses
and determine the appropriate course of treatment. Based on the
assessment, the therapists work with you and your family to develop
goals and establish an individualized treatment plan.
Our Speech Therapy staff specialize in:
Pediatric Services
- Assessment and treatment of speech and language disorders in
children
- Specialized therapy for children with developmental disorders
and disability such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy and Down Syndrome
- Assessment
and treatment of reading and writing disorders
- Assessment and
treatment of children with fluency (e.g., stuttering) or voice
disorders
- Consultation and family education and training
Adult Services
- Assessment and treatment of communication and memory impairment
following brain injury or stroke
- Specialized therapy for adults
with progressive neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's and
Parkinson's disease
- Assessment and treatment of changes in voice
production
- Community support group for adults with a communication
impairment
Swallowing Disorders
- Evaluation and treatment of feeding and swallowing disorders
in children and adults
- Individualized home programs for people
with swallowing disorders
