The Chest Pain Center specifically caters to cardiac patients by providing monitoring and health education. After an initial workup in the Emergency Department to rule out a major cardiac event, patients are taken directly to the Chest Pain Center so a specific cause of the symptoms can be determined.
Located on the hospital's fourth floor, the Chest Pain Center is part of the Intermediate Care Unit. To expedite the treatment process, patients receive testing that includes specific laboratory studies, EKGs and stress echocardiography or nuclear medicine studies.
