CareLink is a personal emergency response service that provides participants with on-call help 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Whenever you need help, one press of your lightweight, waterproof button activates the CareLink Console, a small in-home unit.
The CareLink Console dials the Healthcom Response Center and puts you in touch with a professionally trained operator who asks what kind of help you need. If it's not an emergency, the operator calls one of your "personal responders"—a family member or neighbor—who will come to help you. If your call is an emergency, the operator will call for professional help immediately.
The CareLink Console can be programmed to provide reminder messages to eat, take medications, check blood sugar, etc. You will also be able to answer a ringing phone with a press of the help button, so you don’t have to hurry to the phone.
CareLink units are installed by the Randolph Hospital CareLink Coordinator. There is a $25 installation fee with a monthly monitoring fee of $29.95 a month. For more information about CareLink, please call (336) 629-8890.
