What to Expect After a Sleep Study

After you awake from your study and the technicians have removed your electrodes you are free to go home. You won't receive a diagnosis right away. Your primary care doctor or sleep specialist will review the results of your sleep study.

He or she will use your medical history, your sleep history, and the test results to make a diagnosis. Usually, your doctor, nurse, or sleep specialist will explain the test results and work with you and your family to develop a treatment plan.
