Joint Care

Joint pain doesn't have to be part of your everyday life. At Randolph Health, we have a team dedicated to comprehensive care for joint issues. Whether you're dealing with a stabbing pain in your hip, stiffness in your knee or weakness in your ankle, we can help.

And while we have orthopedic surgery expertise you can trust, we don't rush you into the operating room. Instead, we take time to talk with you, learn from you and help you understand how to prepare for both your surgery and your recovery.

We will be with you every step of the way. Thank you for allowing us to partner with you for your joint replacement care.

Joint Replacement Education: Getting Ready for Surgery

Before your joint replacement surgery is scheduled, we'll enroll you in our Joint Care Program. Our goal: to educate you about your upcoming surgery, recovery and rehabilitation. You will also have the opportunity to meet some of the people who will be part of your joint replacement team, which will consist of:

  • Anesthesiologists
  • Certified registered nurse anesthetists
  • Coaches
  • Nurses
  • Orthopedic surgeons
  • Physical and occupational therapists
  • Resource management staff

Your first appointment with an orthopedic surgeon begins the process. When that appointment is complete and you're preparing for knee replacement, total hip replacement or some other surgery, you'll be enrolled in the joint care program. During your time in the program, your team will:

  • Give you information to help you make the best decisions about your joint care and recovery.
  • Individualize your joint care in the hospital and develop a discharge plan based on your specific situation.
  • Help with your preoperative joint care education to get you ready for surgery.
  • Help plan for your discharge.
  • Direct you to resources and coordinate the joint care services you will need when you leave the hospital.

Orthopedic Surgery: Ending Your Pain

Our fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons have participated in extensive educational programs in order to perform state-of-the-art surgeries to relieve joint or muscle pain and discomfort.

We offer a number of orthopedic surgeries, including:

  • Hip replacement
  • Knee replacement
  • Shoulder replacement

Your joint replacement team will be with you during surgery, and they'll keep you updated on your recovery process. If you have any questions about what is happening now or what should happen in the future, your team can help.

When you're released from the hospital, you'll begin your rehabilitation work with the help of your physical therapist. Soon, you'll heal up and use your new joint to the fullest.
